In continuation of rg letter No. 1928/09 of
the 29th. of last fune, I have the honour to inform you that,
in view of instructions received from the Secretary of State for
the Colonies with regard to Mr. G. A. Woodcock's future employ-
-ment, I have recommended to Lord Crewe that Mr. Woodcock should
be appointed Chief Clerk at the Magistracy and that Fr. C. A. D.
Melbourne, who has on several occasions acted as Deputy
Registrar and Appraiser of the Supreme Court and who is at
present acting in that post, should be given the substantive
appointment which has been left vacant owing to the promotion
of Mr. J. R. Wood.
